August {Fresh New Month}

It’s a ‘minty-fresh’ new month…and I can’t actually believe we’re in the ‘Sunday night’ of summer already!  It fees like it’s been about two seconds since school let out and these summer months began.  I don’t want it to end!  As I think is good practice, I took some time yesterday to think of what I want out of this month – so it doesn’t breeze by so fast that I don’t even realize.  My list of focuses this month is short, in the spirit of ‘everything can’t be a priority’ and the ‘list’ is so long that I end up not accomplishing anything.  They’re more like ‘intentions’ that I’m keeping in mind as I go throughout my days and weeks this month.

Enjoying all the days.  At the end of August {the 23rd to be exact…} ‘back to school’ days start, and as we creep towards that date, I tend to think about constantly as it looms in the future.  This year, I want to just focus on the here and now, and not think about August 23rd until it’s actually here.  I want to focus on getting all I can from these last summer days, and to fit a lot of summer goodness into these next few weeks.

Invest in action.  I don’t want to spend the next few weeks just checking things off the list, but I do want to take some time to put some things in motion.  With short segments of super-productive action {well-spent time, not wasted time}, I want to make a few things happen and get some big ‘to do’s’ done on some projects I have coming up.

Water/Yoga/Fitness/Food/Sleep.  I mean, isn’t this always on the list?  But as we approach ‘school time,’ when I get much busier, and I know for a fact that I’m infinitely better on all fronts when I have all these in place and engaged, I want to make sure I’m in good form to get the year started off in a good place, and also to feel better in general.  I mean, sleeping in is great, but I know I’ll feel better if I’m up early most days and getting the most out of the day.
