This time of year can be a little funny…as we’re seeing more than ever in the Mid-Atlantic over these past few weeks. Literally, 70 degree days, down to 30s, and then an ice storm. During these days we want to be spring-y and bright {next week is actually the official start of spring, after all…} but that wind is like, ‘Nah, girl, you’re still gonna need that scarf.’ So, during these mid-season weeks, I usually stick with muted shades that give a little color {without jumping the gun with that bright pink}, but still go with everything – from a white tee and capris to a puffer jacket with boots. These are my favs:
From left to right:
Modern Love by Deborah Lippman A creamy, muted neutral, with a hint of pinky-purpley-taupe
Wicked by Essie A staple, in my book…A super dark purple-y red that doesn’t look black
Raven by Zoya For when you actually do want a black polish, this one is lightened up with a little shimmer
Quartz by Chanel I usually don’t go for a frost, but this is such a pretty, sparkly neutral, I couldn’t resist
You Don’t Know Jacques by OPI A little brown, a little purple, a little taupe…perfect!
Jane by Zoya I adore this creamy-vanilla-y {not pink} neutral with the perfect amount of opacity
A few other things I’m loving – this base and top coat combo… The Essie First Base is just a good, basic first coat, but good lord – the Seche Vive is amazing, and when they say ‘instant gel effect top coat,’ they’re not kidding! When I’m nice and patient and let the two coats of color dry for about a minute or two each, then put this topcoat on, it lasts for a week, easy, and looks just like a gel mani.
